There is nothing to be worried about. Girls start their periods at different ages.GIRL PROBLEMS advice needed! periods...!x?
Being very thin can stop her from menstruating. It's known as Amenorrhea. Ideally she should see a doctor. One way they can start her body off is by putting her on the pill, but they really should run estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, (these three hormones are required for her to have a correct period) a free androgen index, sex hormone-binding globulin and possibly do an ultrasound of her uterus and ovaries to make sure all is in working order - before starting her on any medication, if there is a need to put her on any medication at all.

All the best. XOX
A girl can get her period a t 16 and still be normal and healthy. If she's REALLY skinny to the point of being malnourished enough, that could be delaying it. But you pretty much have to be anorexic-thin. As far as what you're saying goes, she sounds like she's perfectly fine.

But if you're saying she has already started having periods, but hasn't gotten one for a long time, she should see a doctor.
yeah if you're too skinny it won't come until she hits the right weight. i had the same problem. she should go and see a doctor. it makes sense if you think about it because the whole point of a period is to conceive right? well if your body doesn't have enough meat on it, it would be unhealthy to have a baby and you couldn't feed it properly. therefore, periods will stop, or not come, until it is physically healthy for you to have a baby.

hope this helps!

:D

EDIT: check her bmi. if it says normal then she's good for it to come.

also, when you're underweight, it can be very dangerous. what happens is the calcium being consumed from food can't be deposited into your bones, thus weakening you. its important to be in the normal section of the bmi.
completely normal, i knew a girl who didnt get her period until she was 18! and some girls get theres as young as 8! If she hasn't got it at 16, i suggest perhaps checking with a doctor, but until then, let her enjoy the freedom of not having a peroid! it is by far the worst thing about being female...
hey I dint get mine till I was 16.. maybe she is just a late bloomer and maybe her eating habits are hindering her developments.. she should try eating balanced meals as often as should.. and maybe if she is underweight that could affect her period as well..
Every girl gets their period at a different ages. My friend got hers at age 10, I got mine at age 13, and my sister didn't get hers til she was 15.
everyone starts at different times.

i didn't start until i was 14.

just wait. but if she gets to be 18 and still doesn't start she should go see a doctor.
im skinny and just got my period im almost 15. Its perfectly normal you can get it anywhere fomr 8-18
I wouldn't worry, some take longer.
she just might be a late bloomer....
shes luckyy dude so just tell her to be happy she doesnt have it. some people dont get them til they're like 16. anything after that they should go to the doctor something wrong.
